Op zondag 8 juni – Wereldoceaandag – kon het brede publiek op ontdekkingsreis in de oceaan. Oceaanwetenschappers vulden musea door het hele land met hun enthousiasme tijdens lezingen, workshops en dialogen. Deelnemende musea waren het UMU (Utrecht), Naturalis (Leiden), Miramar Zeemuseum (Vledder), Ecomare (Texel), Artis (Amsterdam) en het Natuurhistorisch Museum Rotterdam en Maastricht.
